Hey I just bought some fullbody duck decoys and the backs on the drakes looked fine in the plastic covers and then we took them out and they like turned a white color. Chemical reaction???? or what?

Not sure what you mean exactly....but do you mean...completely white?
They do have them painted a whitish color to make them easier to see in fields...and maybe...not saying...they look alright under the plastic as it obscures the real color.
Though...you could be right as well......it's not impossible.

I know that we paint them a frosty white to match the backs of full plumage Drakes.

I noticed the same thing. They are whiter than any other GHG model of mallard decoys. I darkened mine a touch with grey paint.

We did change the paint job on these decoys as far as adding alittle more white and also the chestnut color on the breasts a couple seasons ago.
Here is a comparison photo.

I thought they were a little white at first, but when I started looking more closely at the drakes we were killing later in the season, they do have a lot of white on their backs. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

Sweet, that has been my rip about all the decoys companies out there. None of them had white on the Mallards back. Now I just may have to buy some!!

Great comparisons guys, I have the older style of decoys and I still kill plenty of the mature drakes with the whiter backs.:) :D

Maybe I'll take some Avery snow spray and touch up my older duck decoys.
