Hey guys, I was wanting to now what blind ya'll prefer for filming field hunts waterfowling? We bought a new Canon XH-A1 HD last March and videoed our turkey season and come this fall we are wanting to film our waterfowl hunts.

Also do you guys free hand it or use some type of tripod or shoulder mount?

Dusty im wondering the same question, i heard cutting a little hole in the powerhunter mesh face cover works really good but have never tried it and go with free hand on the filming out of a blind at least.

Im no pro at filming but i like to use the power hunter and i dont have any holes cut in it. if the zoom is set right you cant even see the mesh face cover but again not a pro so if theres a little mesh in my video not a problem for me.

When I shoot photos, I use a Power Hunter. Some guys take the cover off completely and use a ghillie suit or burlap to cover up. Mobility is key and it is difficult to shoot all directions if you are in a blind with doors.

Powerhunter. We cut the entire front screens out on both sides of the pole.

I'm with you guy it's the Power Hunter all the way and we do take the lid off and use burlap to cover up with.

Power Hunter with the centre strut removed and a head hole cut out of the mesh. You cant use any of the doored blinds as when you sit up enough to get the camera clear of the grassing on the doors in front of you, your shoulders force the doors open, which means you then have to sit even higher with the doors wide open, all in all not much good for sharp eyed waterfowl, especially honkers!
The modified Power Hunter works brilliantly! We leave the back brace in as it helps break up your outline when you're moving round with the camera.
We're using a Canon XM2 and getting some great footage, so we can produce a commercial NZ waterfowling DVD. Won't be up to Mr Zink's standards, but great fun anyway!

I like using either the Power Hunter or Ground Force to shoot pictures with my DSLR. Most of the time I use the Power Hunter for honkers and ducks in the fields. I made some plastic stoppers to keep the lit up and out of the way so I have free range of motion to move the camera around. If I am hunting snow geese, I prefer the Ground Force because snow's come in more vertical. I can lay down in the GF and shoot straight up with the mesh face flaps rolled out of the way.

It is harder to shoot at birds lower to the ground out of the G.F. then the P.H. thats for sure so I use both blinds.
