FYI, I just got this email today...

As a result, the The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Service Regulations
Committee may adapt a special Scaup Harvest Strategy that could result in a
bag limit of one scaup * which is unjustifiable by current harvest
strategies. Waterfowler.com is encouraging our readers to familiarize
themselves the facts, and contact their state, federal and private waterfowl
organizations and demand that funding and research priorities be placed on
the scaup crisis, and refrain from setting regulations that are not
supported by science.

For additional information on the scaup crisis, please visit:

Thank you in advance for your support on this matter, and making your voice
heard.

Can't honestly say I'm against it. Went from seeing 100+ a day commonly several years to ago to a grand total of 4 for the whole season last year. Seeing that made me really worried about their decline.

It wouldn't bother me if they closed the season down on them until they get it figured out. Our numbers in Ky are way down from what I've seen in years past. There are plenty of butterballs and Eyes to make up for the lack of bluebills. They kept our number the same here in Indiana (2) for this season.

I'm all for it!!! I am worried that more will still be shot , being mistaken for ringnecks. It is tough took 3 or 4 passes this year for me to finally ID em.
