i hunt mainly on the east coast and we have no lesser geese to my knowledge in this flyway. I have really increased my decoy spread over the last few years and am once again looking to buy more deocys:D :D . The question is i know that i could get more decoys for less money if i buy the lesser decoys, do you think that the other species of geese will react well with the lesser decoys or should i just stay with the pro grade canadian decoys? Thanks for the anticipated response.

You will have absolutely no problem killing big geese over lessers. So far this early season, the big geese have just been eating them up!!

I don't know exactly where on the East Coast you are located but I'd be surprised if you had problems running a mixed spread. I have used a mixed spread (approx. 75% Lessers to 25% Life Size) for the last 2 seasons and have been VERY pleased with the results.
As you noted...you get more bang for your decoy buck with the Lessers and you can haul more Lessers in "x" amount of space vs. a larger decoy. Additionally if "matching the hatch" is your bag then it is my understanding that the Atlantic Population Canada Geese we hunt here in Maryland are mostly Interior and to a lesser extent (pardon the pun) James Bay birds...much closer in size to the GHG Lesser decoys than the original Life-Size Canada Geese / Honker Decoys.

I will agree with both George and Rob. I run a mixed spread of Life Size and Lessers with success. Actually, the GHG Lessers are slightly over-sized and are nearly life size of our A.P. geese.

thanks for the info. my mind is made up, now i know what i am spending the extra 2 grand on during the waterfowlers weekend at cabelas!!:D :D. Thanks again, and by the way those are some great pics, i always wanted to get down to maryland to do some goose hunting and don't know why i haven't yet. I'm only like 1 to 1 1/2 hrs away in south jersey. Is there any public land to hunt geese in maryland, or should i go with a guide?

alright i ordered a harvester pack of lesser pro grades and they came in today. i have to say that i really like them, though they are a lot smaller than the honkers. my only question is does anyone know if the harvester pack is susposed to come with a decoy bag? When i ordered these decoys from rogers sporting goods i called to ask and they told me that they do come with a decoy bag but when i got the shipment there was no bag. Not sure if they are susposed to come with one or not. i know that my harvester packs of floaters did so i figured that i would ask.

not yet i'm gonna call on monday. if i have to buy the bags for them then it would actually be cheaper to buy the pro grade honker harvester pack, if that comes with the bag. lol.
