I know this has probably been talked about a ton, but I'm Looking for opinions. I had my mind made up on the Ground Force, but Cabelas doesn't carry it in KW-1. I hunt mostly ponds with very little cover, hay fields and occasionally a fieldcorn or bean field. I used a buddy's gf a couple of times and liked the way you sit up in it and folded size for transport. I've never hunted out of the other two. I have an FA SUB and hate it. I find myself pulling up, because it lays too far back for me, also I have limited storage so I fold it down, but its the older model that only folds in half and it sucks to try to put it back together. I'm looking to make the purchase soon so any help is greatly appreciated. (oh ya I'm 5'8 and 170)

old Finisher, by a long shot but if you can't find one go with the GF. Whos idea was it to make that man hole in the mesh in the new finishers? The old ones with the stiff mesh that covered your face was the ticket.

I wouldn't worry much about KW-1 coloring, I have one and it is a nice camo, but around a green setting shadowgrass or a field khaki version will be easier to hide.

The GF blinds are very nice, I have two as my primary blinds.

i agree with quackaddict if you hunt around ponds and in hay fields mainly then KW-1 is not for you. I'm not a staffer or anything but i would go with a darker camo pattern and add some winter wheat killer weed.

My favorite blind to hunt from is a Powerhunter. I hunt from it close to 90 percent of the time. If hunting in standing water is a possibility at all, go with the Finisher and add a neotub to it.
If the color on the KW1 doesn't do it for you, DUST it with Krylon Camo paint. Don't coat it, just dust it so that the pattern can stillbe seen, but the color is dulled or shifted to what you want. Kind of like mudding it. I do it on all my blinds no matter what pattern they are.

All three are good blinds and I've hunted from all three several times. The majority of the time I find myself in a Power Hunter unless it's super cold or there is snow on the ground and then I go to a Ground Force so I have some interior storage.

I like the KW1 for the field, lighter colored blinds are easy to cover and make darker with stubble but it's hard to lighten a dark blind.

My rig consist of 1 Ground Force, and 5 Power Hunter. The reason I choice the PH because it is the lowest profile blind out, and with the lid you can see everything which works out well with new and experience hunters.

And if you plan on hunting hay, or beans late in the year you want to be as low as you can get.

So my choice would be the Power Hunter.

No doubt the Power Hunter is the ticket..... the camo reley does'nt matter much as long as you plan on grassing it up....ours could be bright orange and you would'nt know it......POWER HUNTER you won't be dissapointed

My vote is also a Power Hunter; cheap, easy to pack, easy to hide, super easy set up and take down.

Another vote for the Power Hunter. The Power Hunter takes up very little space stored in a trailer or vehicle, easily packs into a field, sets up in seconds and has a very low profile. My rig consist of 1 Finisher and 5 Power Hunters. My Finisher has not been out in 3 seasons.

I hate my power hunter, havent liked it from day one. Personally I am a Finisher guy, love the space and comfort it provides incase it is a sunrise to sunset hunt.

Me too. I dont think the Power Hunters are that comfortable or at least arent as comfortable as the Finishers, but it really comes down to personal preference.

Been using the P.H. for 3 years and got the G.F. last spring and used it snow goose hunting.

If you are going to be hunting pastures with little cover and transport is also important for you, I would lean towards the Power Hunter. It is easier to hide and lighter then the G.F. The blind is comfortable to lay in and very easy to call and see out of.

The G.F. has more room inside it for gear, protects you against the elements better and is more comfortable but doesn't hide as well.

If you are going for one blind, the Power Hunter would get the notch in my opinion.

I do most of my hunting from a power hunter as its light, easy to carry, and extremely easy to hide. I would say 80% of my hunting is from a Power Hunter, a lot of my field hunting is done on winter wheat fields and its a lot easier to hide the Power Hunter than a full frame blind. But i do use SUB either when it supper muddy or when theres snow on the ground!

nother vote here for the Power Hunter. I have one and I love it plus with field khaki you can go wrong!

I have a power hunter in field khaki, and it' by far the easiest blind to fold down and set up. Also, since it is so low profile, especially if you take out the bar in the cockpit, you can hide it anywhere. I would say the only downfall is that it doesn't have a ton of room, and it's not the best for cold hunts.

I have my Gun in my hands and I come up shootin! when you have 8 shots at your disposal as we do in here in NZ every second counts, so I need my gun in the blind with me so a Groundforce or finisher, is my preferred blind. I also think there is some saftey advantages from using a framed blind. Cannot wait to get a new M2.

I have tried all of the Avery blinds, and also some blinds from other brands. I go to a good ole Finisher most of the time. Roomy, big, easy to hide my clients in and I don't have to worry about them moving around and being seen. The taco design actually packs as well as other blinds contrary to popular opinion and having your gun IN the blind rather than IN the dirt is a huge plus in IMO. A little heavy when compared to a power hunter for example, but if you're hunting from a trailer like most goose hunters I know, who cares. GF is just as good, just a little smaller. I have not hunted form the M2 yet, so I have no review of that blind. For various reasons, a Finisher is my blind of choice.

Having your gun inside the blind and not in the dirt is the main reason I don't like powerhunters, I have one and use it from time to time but not if I can avoid it.

I forgot to mention I do not have a dog so I have waders on about 80% of the time in the blind. Also I didn't think about having my hand on the gun in the blind. Is that a big adjustment if you are used to hunting out of a finisher style blind then using a ph?
