Have 3 2006 Ground Force blinds, friend joined us and bought a GF blind 3 months ago. Discovered it did not have the gun support bar like ours. Was told that the bar was no longer used because on uneven ground the doors locked up. We hunt in SW PA not exactly smooth country, never had a problem. The cushioned bar lays on your legs normally and when you lean the shotgun on it it really presses down, very uncomfortable. Avery customer service said we could buy the bar and 2 hinges for $14 + shipping. Really appreciate Avery's customer "non-services".

Why not post a reply vs. a pm? That way the rest of us considering a Power Hunter or other Avery/GHG blind can be informed? Just curious?

Maybe he wants to take care of the guy himself and wants to personally call him or have the guy call him?? Don't always jump to conclusions.....
I would not want my cell number posted on here either?
Not sure what he expected from CS but a PSer close to him will look into it and hopefully make the customer happy.

Derek and Jason -
Nothing personal at all. They're just maybe some of us considering a Power Hunter or other Avery/GHG blind. If there's a problem with it, we want to know about it. A lot of times these "issues" can be solved pretty easily. If there are bigger problems with product we would hope and expect Avery to be honest about it and I'm sure they'll do what they can to correct the "potential" issue. That's all.:)

Just a ?
Where are you getting the PH thing from.....we are all talking about the Ground Force Blinds!
I have a bar if the guy wanted it he could pay shipping...he would just have to buy the hinges. That damn thing got in my way all the time and was hard to slip my 14's through. I took it off and it makes NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL (how the blind sits, stability, etc.)

I am lost here. Why is it wrong for us to charge for a part that no longer comes with the blind?

Chris, no big deal. The GF was redesigned to eliminate a problem with the doors binding when placed on uneven ground. Don prefers the design of the original GF while I prefer the new design. I figured I would try to handle the issue myself being Don lives in my neck of the woods and I even offered to take his GF off his hands by trading blinds or whatever. This is why the PM was sent. Customer Service in my opinion extends further than a call to headquarters. I was just looking to keep one of our customers happy. If you have any questions about the GF, feel free to ask. We're all here to help.

Should a person have to pay for a part that was originally on the blind? I personally like the new style, but if he bought three with and then bought a fourth assuming it would be like that, a 14 dollar part shouldn't be a big deal considering he spent close to a grand JUST on ground blinds, not to mention he probably has some decoys, and other Avery products.

Guys,
We make changes to products all the time to improve them. You can't fault us for that. Many of the changes that we make are from comments on this message board. Options are not free anywhere and it isn't a question of how much is spent. Plain and simple is that the blind doesn't come with that bar any more. I think it is wrong to expect it for free.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Agreed. I have a bar laying in my garage that hasn't been used since I got the blind 2 years ago, it's yours if you want to pay the shipping.
