Hi guys, I was wanting to paint up some old mallard decoys and I just wanted to know what type of paint to use to get the best colour and adhesion. Do I use oil base,Exterior latex paint ETC.

Just wanna make the old ones look better I got about 2 dozen and I don't really want to get rid of them.

Any Info would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Jason,

I would avoid using the oil based paints and you have to be careful with some latex paints because they can have a shine to them. Acrylic paints can work out sometimes, but if I were you I would look at buying a paint kit made for decoys. They will come with all the right shades that you need and will be made for that kind of use. Parker makes a kit that I know of that can be found at some outdoor stores such as Sportsman's Warehouse and I believe Cabela's also has some kits that you can order. I hope that helps.
