After finally getting a decent little cold front, we had a great weekend of duck shooting here in Colorado. I was lucky enough to hunt with 3 generations of duck hunters on Saturday and we had a blast. It's always tough though when you've got 150+ ducks in the dekes 3 minutes before legal!! We made the best of it and everybody had their shots throughout the morning....the highlight was a flock of 30 Gadwall and Pintail that we managed 6 out of with two Drake Gaddies going on the wall....

Sunday was spent earning a new friend from Minnesota his first Wigeon. All he asked before the hunt was, "Do you think we'll have the chance to shoot a Wigeon?". Afterwards while we were picking up I asked him, "How about 6 Wigeon, will that do?!!"......

wow that is a beautiful place to hunt! Congrats on the awesome gaddys that are going on the wall. Your gonna have to put some pics on here when you get them back

I can't get enough of that landscape, KD! What a beautiful place, and a couple of great hunts on top of that....


You should have seen the Wigeons we shot in the barley this weekend.... absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention the bar-bellies and the Greenheads, one of which had a funny silver thing around its leg! Of course I didn't shoot it, but I feel a change in the band mojo.... I believe my first will be this season... we will see. :)


Hey! Just an idea...
How about you come up the last week in October and meet up with me and Georgie Z. It's going to get pretty dirty.

I would love to but already have hunts booked, gotta make hay while the sun shines......trying to get to Kansas in December though. THANKS for the invite man, I appreciate it. Keep those pics coming, I'm jealous of those Whitefronts......

It must be rough to hunt in that area with the mountains as your backdrop, truly an awesome looking area!!
