I just brushed this pit last Saturday for the Missouri north zone opener. Do you guys think this pit is hid well enough? The water should be about 8” higher by opening day.

I think you will need to give me the location and I will have to come by myself to check on the brush quality.

Looks real good.

A little background.

This is the first year I have hunted this pit with the current conditions. It is located along the Mississippi river and it was flooded twice...the first time it was under 11 feet of water and the next time it was under 2 ft which occured in mid September after the remnants of hurricane Ike dumped 6"+ of rain to the north and in the immediate area. This field is usually corn and beans, with some millet in the ditches. We do have a great moist soil feed base and some of the area, especially just to the left of this pit, has a great stand of millet. I can't say the same for some of private areas to the south where the water was higher and stayed a little longer, their moist soil feed was mostly wiped out.

We had a few thousand ducks in it at one time, but most of them moved on (teal) and they haven't ate everything yet. The water is low enough now to keep them out of most of the feed.
