Looking at GF dog blind. My dog is 23" at the shoulder at 9 mos. Do I need to go with the bigger size or can I squeeze him into the X Low model? Would love to stay as low profile as possible, but he also needs to fit into the thing!

Any recommendations appreciated.

The difference in size in height is 2", you're not gaining that much in lower profile by staying with the ultra low. My 9 month old is under 20" at the shoulders so I'm going with the UL, she can crawl in and turn around just fine. How big are your dogs' parents, he may outgrow the UL when he fills out into adulthood.

I don't think you will have a problem with the Ultra Low. You don't want the dog to be standing in the blind anyway. Most dogs have a tendency to just lay down once they get inside the blind. If you have any doubt, there is only two inches of difference all the way around. You could just go with the standard Ground Force Dog Blind.

If you can go somewhere to try one out do it. I have an UL and my buddy has a regular one. both of our dogs can fit in UL, but my buddy's dog won't fit in UL with vest on, it catches on blind trying to enter! Just my 2 cents1

If you have doubts, I'd go with the bigger blind.

I had my dog in an Ultra Low several times in the past 2 years without any problems.
This year, as she's aging, I think her hips are starting to ache a bit and I can tell she's a little more hesitant to get into the Ultra Low blind. She'll still get in and once in, there's MORE than enough room. But I don't want to put any more stress on her and her hips than I need so, so I'm sticking with the regular blind.
