Foggy morning mallards

After watching a stacked field for 3 days with an honest 5 thousand mallards and 10 thousand snows we were finally able to get in it this morning for what turned out to be an awesome hunt. The fog made it impossible to see the birds untill they were literaly right in front of us. Calling was definately the key to our success this morning. Ended the day with 23 mallards, 1 wigeon, 1 pintail, 14 snows, and one banded drake mallard.

It was a good time. I just wish electronic calls were legal in the fall...then the snows really would've been in trouble.

All we had out for decoys was 7 dozen full body mallards. The fog pretty much made the snow geese retarded and i think they just came to the calling. We would be able to hear them but we couldnt ever see them till they were about 50 yards out and coming. It was a blast!
