Oversized or Lifesize Mallards?

I am contimplating on buying some decoys. I am in college and dont just have extra money laying around and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on either using lifesized or oversized mallards? do the oversized make that much of a difference? Can someone help me please, I hunt the river most of the time. Thanks.

You can get 2 doz. hot buys per 1 doz. life size. and dang near 4 doz. hot buys for 1 doz. oversize.

I would go with hot buys, and let your numbers pull them in. 3 doz. oversize would be about 11 doz. hot buys, and I think 132 decoys would outpull 36.

Now if you are only looking at running a few decoys, a doz. or even less, I would look at some of the more relaxed and specialty poses, couple sleepers, headless feeders, butts. Just look like birds completely at ease.

If you are worried about visibility, buy some lifesize goose floaters, they will add confidence and visibility.

I have only used lifesized in the past and have never had a complaint. I dont really know if that helps you or not, but I guess they work just fine, I agree with the hotbuys too! Although i dont own any, I have hunted over them several times and they work great!

I have oversized and like them alot they really look good mixed in with the fullbody mallards.

i have the hot buys for now and they work fine for hunting on budget.. thanks to college. they say oversized are more visible.. but if you are looking for numbers i would say go with lifesize.. thats what im gonna do once i get some more money!

I hunt the river 90% of the time and i swear the ticket is the hot buy decoys i'm not all to easy on my decoys and when they get beat up i dont feel so bad. Any way go with the hot buys i kill every time hunting over them, haven't been skunked yet. The other thing i would think about is a baby mojo they bring ducks in your face, the movement helps!
