Although our goose hunting has remained excellant, it really has not been worth doing the early morning duck hunt of late. We do not have a very large concentration of birds, although they do decoy very willingly. However, if the weather does not get those 4-6 local flocks moving, I am stuck looking at nothing until the geese start moving. When I woke up today and saw the combination of cold, wind, sleet, and snow I figured the morning duck hunt may pay off. It turns out that the mallards just could not stay out of my ten foot wide creek. Here are the 4 big mature greenheads that I took this morning.
