I was beside myself after hearing from Steveo the other night letting us know my friend and I were invited on a pheasant hunt up in Conde, SD. I've seen the group pictures in the past from these particular farms and I was excited to say the least.

After arriving at the meeting spot we headed off to the first field. We were informed that he farm had been hunted pretty hard but 20 yards into the crp we realized it was still going to be good. By late afternoon we had our 15 man 45 bird limit. Great day to say the least.

gotta love them rooties this time of year!

how were the birds holding? considering you said one field had been hit hard already, did the birds flush pretty wild? or are they still holding nice?

It was a real mix, some flushed when we closed the doors to the trucks whereas I stepped on others. We had out 3-4 pointers and 4 flushers so the dogs had it well covered. One in-particular cattail slough made for some nice points but in the grass they ran like bandits. Thus why I prefer flushing labs and springers.
