Ok I'm gonna start off by giving the location and weather conditions:
South Central Kansas. 35-40 degrees during the day and about 25 at night.
I was country cruizin yesterday and stumbled over about a 3 acre pond with a couple hundred ducks and geese on it. A few hours later, went and talked to the landowner and more than likely we'll be able to hunt there. So...between classes today I've been running out there and checkin on these birds and they've always been there. Here's the times I've been there and they've been sitting on the pond: 7:30 am, 10:45 am, 12:45 pm, 3:15 pm, and 4:30 pm. What the heck? Surely they have to leave at some point during the day. Any suggestions on how this place could be hunted?

Clear ski or cloudy?

Yesterday when I was there at 3 and 4:30 it was clear. Today at 7:30, 10:45, and 12:45, it was about 80-90% cloud cover

I have a similar sounding spot in SE KS that I hunt. It may be a loafing spot and they loaf and roost only leaving in small groups and coming in and out all day. You may have to get there when the least amount of birds are there and just bump them set up quickly and kill them as they come back. If it is holding that many birds they will come back.

But that's the problem, I'm pretty for sure they're roosting there as well.

That is what we did at a farm pond...We bumped em out of there and set up really qucik and they were back in about 25-30 min..and they came back in small groups soo it was good.

As I am writing this, we're fixin to head out and hit the pond. Last night the birds weren't roosting there when I went by so hopefully we're gonna wear em out. I'll let you know how it goes. 33 degrees and overcast.

Well just got back from the hunt. No birds were roosting there so right at LST this morning hundreds of geese started swarming and it was the craziest thing I've never seen geese swarm a pond right at first light like a bunch of ducks. But anyways it was steady geese action all morning and we had a three man limit by 9:30. Great morning so thanks for all the help guys.
