Yesterday a buddy of mine went out for a little jump shooting action with me. We had an excelent day. We ad a limit of mallards in less than 30 minutes. 9 shots, 8 mallards! Unfortunately I was the one to mess up the perfect streak. Now there was one little catch to all this action. I had shot a mallard that coasted down the creek about 150 yards and hit the water. We walked down and I just happened to see the bird floating towards us with its head up. I sent my lab leo and when he picked the bird up I was in amazement. HE retrieved the bird to me and I looked and it had an Avise band on it. The band looked worn something fierce, I knew it had to be old. I called it in when I got home and found out the bird was banded on a lake in Ontario on August 16th 1994!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats what I call a veteran.
