Below I have listed a few photos for the NEW GHG Pro-Grade Mallard Active Pack. Each pack includes 2 Swivel Head Drakes, 2 Swivel Head Hens and 2 Active Drakes. These amazing blocks were sculptured by World Champion Carver, Dick Rhode. They look incredible and will add realism to any spread!

Looks great guys, so will the flocked heads for the full body actives fit on these, or is it a permenent connection?

Seems a lot of guys were complaining when they saw that Dakotas mallard floaters had the color on the wing showing.... now no one cares or what:confused:
Although with a little distance it is hard to see on those drakes.

I don't know, after seeing the wigeon, the mallards haven't impressed me.

x2. Will I buy some anyways to diversify the spread??? For sure. Look better than the competions best but are my least favorite of the new decoys.

In all honesty, the GHG drakes were the most realistic in color and pose for a (non-custom) decoy on the market. It had to be hard to try to improve on this item. I think they are better looking, and with the swivel heads, the drakes are leaps and bounds above what any other company makes.

Hard to be impressed with an improvement when the improved upon really didn't need much work.

The swivel heads on the hens was a surprise to me, I like them a lot.

Overall, cant get much better....but we'll see.

I agree with C4L...these are nice decoys, dont get me wrong, but they just haven't lived up to the hype that was put on them. I really like the GW and BW teal and wigeons. The woodies are a nice upgrade too. It was hard to improve on the previous mallards. Go back and look at the previous teal and wood ducks and you can see a MAJOR improvment.

Just my thoughts.

I second! Not much improvement needed on the previous bad boys. Maybe flocked heads, glass eyes, one or two with mouths open perhaps.....but other than those minor things, they are awsome!

If its anything that is in need improvement, its the keel. I'd love a reliable, easy to use removable keel system. This issue is all arcoss the board for all manufacteruers though.

Only time will tell on how much of an improvement these will be. If the paint holds up they are an improvement in my book! I do like the swivel heads as well!

I agree with this.

Toss 20 of these with some sleepers/resters even a few full bodies on the shore and your laugh'n.

Very nice! I think what impresses me most is that with all of the new decoy products by other manufacturers hitting the market (and there are some good ones), GHG has not sat back on what has been the most realistic decoys and IMO a VERY GOOD product. I will be adding some of these to the spread this year, even though the 200 or so GHG's I've had since your second year look almost as good as new. And to think, I hunt a lot and just bag them...go figure.

One question I have. Has GHG changed the gray sides and backs on the mallard drakes? In the photos, the gray looks slightly lighter and not quite as gray/ green as the older mallards. I like the color I see in the photos! Looks more natural and contrasts more with the breast and tail colors.

I tip my hat to you.

hmmm, Interesting because it looks just about perfect in this picture. These guys that carve these thing are the best at what they do. They go through hundreds of pictures to reference body postures and colors. If you saw the first Zink video you will notice when Freddie is cutting in the texture on the gadwall carving he had a dead gadwall lying there on the table.

How are these pro-grade decoys going to compare in size to the life-size and over-size series?

You could put that drake in with any other decoy on the market and say the same thing. Not to mention, the dekes look bulky by comparison.

I think he was making a reference to the bill colour not the entire decoy. The reason the decoys look bulky is because they are meant to mimic a relaxed bird and my guess is that that duck just landed in the spread and is not relaxed judging by it's posture.

No Black Ducks for this year. The only new decoys we have coming out this year are the ones seen on here right now, with exception to the Pro-Grade Rester Mallards which haven't been posted up yet. Sorry man.

Thats fine, I can wait another year for life size black ducks.

Also, are all these decoys that you guys have been putting pictures up of, life size, over size, or are you doing away with the size differences, I dont remember seeing life size, or over size anywhere.

All of the body positions (surface feeders, sleepers, resters, active) are great. These are fantastic looking decoys. I just saw the new Dakota duck decoys. They are more than brutal. They are horrible. Bad paint colors and goofy body shapes.
