I saw a post (on this site or another) where someone had added the mud motor kit to the quick set on the front and back to help with getting in and out without having to take the blind down. Anybody ever done this? How exactly does the mud motor kit work? Anybody have any other ideas for getting in and out easier, without having to fold the blind down or climb over it?

The Mud Motor Kit is a drop down bar that allows you to stear the motor while the blind is down, but not up in the traveling position. The kit is a set of bars that form a U shape that allows the long tail motors the movement side to side and up and down without hitting the frame while driving. We do not recommend to drive the boat while the blind is in the up position. The Quick Setsets up and collapses in less than 30 seconds.

Thanks for all of the details. I guess I should be more specific, since I left out this important detail: I do not need the mud motor kit to use the blind while driving, or even to use a mud motor. I need it so I can get in and out of the blind with it in the up position. Does anyone have a pic of the blind with a mud motor kit?

I don't know how they would put on the front and still have it lay flat for travel. It needs to have a recessed spot like where the motor is to be able to lay flat.
Thanks,

Would someone mind posting pics of a quick set with the mud motor kit in the raised and lowered positions? I have never seen one on a boat...would be curious as to what it looks like.

Attached are a couple of images per your request.
Quick-Set Blind in the down position and the boat underway. Because so much of the motor is inside the sternplate during operation (vs. a standard outboard motor), the Mud Motor conversion allows the QS frame to not impede with the operation of the motor.

Quick-Set Blind in in the up position, ready to hunt. The "U-shaped" gap is clearly evident in this shot.

Hope this helps!

Do you happen to have any that are closer up? I would like to see what it looks like from the inside as well.

Are the Quickset and Cabelas Northern Flight blinds made from the same size tubing?

I don't know what Cabela's uses for tubing. We use 1" fluted aluminum for a majority of our tubing. There is some 3/4" tubing used on the corners.
Thanks,

Thanks Rick, I believe they also use 1" tubing. Just want to make sure they're a match so I can get an adapter ordered.
