There is a few things you have to factor in. Think about the wind, which direction does it blow out of mostly? Dont put the sun in your face. Also you have to make sure there is room for the birds to work if they want to.

Pick a spot that makes the blind easy to blend into. Make sure you can cleanly shoot from all angles and is a fairly easy spot to retrieve downed birds. Also you want to be able to see other boats coming.

Remember a spot that looks "ducky" doesnt necessarily mean that it is. If I were you, I would scout and hunt the spot this year without installing the blind to see what placement would be best suitable for the blind in the long run. You want it to be somewhat easy to get to, yet comfortable for everyone.

If your only problem is that you cant decide between divers or puddlers then I dont think anybody can help you. Thats a decision you will have to make on your own. Whats wrong with putting the blind in the calmer water then using a boat on the diver hunts?

Is it not possible to put up two blinds, I have no idea what kind of blind your talking about building but if its just out of natural vegetation and what not having two shouldn't be a problem. At least that's what I would do

This is what I would do as well. Hunt it this year and learn the ducks habits and what worked and didnt work!! Dont want to do a bunch of work this year and come December be saying man i wish this blind was over there!!!!

Do what the guys stated above...hunt it this year and see what areas of the property the birds like more and then make your decision after this upcoming season is over.

That way, there will be no regrets about your blind placement.

We have somewhat of the same delimma where we r @ and we hunt from layout blinds now for that reason. Mobility, it makes it easier to pick up and move to where the birds want to go on that day and then just adapt with each hunt until you learn what they are wanting in your particular situation. Every place is different, trail and error but with the layout you can at least move without moving your whole spread. Hope this helps.

If you have to have one stationary blind I would focus on the sun.....have it at your back if possible. To me that is more important than a perfect wind?!?

I sure would not have it looking into the sun during peak hunting hours. Is there a prevailing wind? If so have it work in your favor.
