I am debating building a custom blind, or getting the quick set. But, I do not like the top of the blind. I prefer a "dugout" type blind top. With top cover, but being able to see, work duck and shoot without too much issues.

Can the top be customized to this type of set up?

Thanks

I have an Avery Quick Set blind and I have modified the top of mine to form a Hi-Lo type of blind. I slid the front flip top over towards the edge and folded it all the way down flat and then took the back flip top and moved it closer to the center line. That way I can lean back and be under the cover for the birds that fly over head, but can see everything out in front of the blind. I ziptied Fast Grass sheets to the top of the rails and then used Killerweed to break up the outline of the rails and to camouflage them. I also added support braces front and back both sides because I leave my quickset up while trailering. I cover the whole thing with an oversized boat cover to protect the grass from blowing off while going down the road.

I appreciate the ideas. I had thought of the same thing in a way. Also had thought of cutting the front/shooting side legs shorter than the back, and give it a more true dug out style. BUT, I just don't know if it would fold down properly.

If you have any pics handy, it would be great to look at!

Thanks man!

Sorry guys, the blind is sitting on the ground behind my house with no grass on it. My boat is set up for fishing right now. I will put the blind on in Mid Sept and take some pictures then. I can take some pictures of just the frame if you want.

Do not alter the leg assemblies on a QuickSet blind, it will not fold properly if the legs are cut.

Any good ideas on closing the gaps on the top in between the hunters.
