Luke,

If I had to choose one call for hunting small ponds and corn fields, I would choose the PH-2 over the Double Mag. The Double Mag is great for big open water and field hunting especially on windy days. If you are open to more then those two calls, I would also look at the PH-1 or the XR-2 if you prefer double reeds. Either one of these calls will work great on small ponds but give you more volume then the PH-2 for hunting over corn fields. Just my opinion.

i use a ph-1 for our big water blind and it sounds really good over the cornfields we hunt also. i have a ph-2 also that sounds good on calm days out on the big water its good for small ponds and fields also

the ph-2 is my go to call for fields, small ponds and hunting on the river. I like the xr-2 also but the ph-2 take a little less air to use. Both great like calls.

Luke, I personally like the PH-2 more than the double mag.. Takes less air to blow and it just works better for me. Although the double mag is good for windy days and big open waters but personally I like the PH-2 for smaller ponds and corn fields. Good luck with whatever you choose and I hope I helped you out with this.

I would have to agree with Korey. I love my PH-2 for small ponds and cornfields. But I like my PH Open Water better than the PH-2 DM for those windy days out on the sod fields because it's easier to blow than the DM. Hope this helps.

The PH2 is the way to go...it's all duck. It's a great call to choose when you need something that is quite on those days when the wind isn't blowing or you're hunting small bodies of water.

I own a Ph-2. I absolutely love it. It is very ducky and responsive.

I 've got a Double Mag and a XR-2, but on those calm quite days in the timber I use a poly PH-2. Results are DEADLY.

I've got them both, but prefer the PH-2!

If you are hunting a small pot hole or a pond remember you want a call that is ducky but also soft sounding so you don't blow the ducks out. I use a coco PH-2 when I am in a small hole. If I am in open water I will use an acrylic PH-2 or a PH-1.
