Hey Guys,
We hunt alot of public land around here and we usually have to walk long distances to get to good spots along the wetland areas around here. I was thinkin on how we could make these walks more bearable and thought about using a sled to put our decoys, guns ect. in to drag through the mud and float to our spot. was wondering if you guys have any that you have used in the past or still use that did right by you. Was also looking for one that would not cost me a fortune, around $50.

Thanks!
Kyle

Thread going on about sleds in the goose hunting section, looks like the consensus so far are the Otter sleds.

KL sled that you can buy in Cabellas. The Otter sleds look great but on the heavy side if you need to pack a ways over drier terrain. 2 places I hunt I drag them over the grass for 50/60 yards no problem loaded. They really go over wet grass with no problem and snow is not a problem either. They float real well and can stand the abuse. My dog and kids stand in them in the shallower depths and keep dry.

My heavest load dragging is about 70 pounds and thats decoys, gun, bag, and the extra "stuff" we waterfowlers always take.

My family even takes the sled and slides down the slopes in the snow with it.

Otter makes good products but the weight and cost factor were too much for my application.

Unfortunately we have had some good and not so good experiences in pulling sleds.

In water they work great, even when heavily loaded.

On wet grass they work ok, but be careful not to go to heavy.

On mud............forget it........you may be better off carrying everything.
