i have been thinking of buying a mojo. i heard that they are effective and can help alot in fields. i was curious if the baby mojo and the regular really make any difference since they both add movement. also would a baby mojo duck work for doves? i dont hunt doves alot but i want to try and ive heard that motion attracts them.
the biggest thing for me is money. i am only 16 and i dont hunt ducks too much but i hunt fields a lot where they fly over and i would like to get into marshes more. so is it a worthwhile investment?

They do work well in fields. I havent noticed much of a difference between baby mojo and regular but I do believe they are well worth the investment put into getting one. Hope this helps!

Last year I bought a super mojo... and used it on a hunt with some of my friends family. they were running a baby mojo and By the end of the morning we decided the super mojo was alot quieter and ran alot smoother (didnt shake as violently). I would def recommend the super mojo... btw we shot a 6 man limit of birds that morning in 45 minutes... on public land... without anyone calling... lol:D Its proof to me that they do work... just my 2 cents

thanks everybody. i looked at them on cabelas and i think id have to go with the baby. i figured out that if i buy the duck, the remote, and the pole itll come out to $140. but i might end up just trying to make the pole and save some green
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the baby Mojo comes with some corrugated painted cardboard wings, like the Mojo dove, while the regular Mojo comes with metal wings.
I have both a regular Mojo drake decoy and Mojo dove decoy, and the wings last much better and are much higher quality on the duck decoy.
You might take that into consideration if durability is an issue for you.

Just buy the normal mojo duck with a factory installed remote. The baby has plastic corrugated wings which arent that sturdy.

you could always buy the mojo thang its a hand held mojo wing that could be put in a field to add motion or simply held it works great and is only around $20

ok thanks. if the regular includes a remote and is that much more durable then maybe ill go with that.
Hen Talk,
i have seen them and they look nice. but i never thought of buying one. ill look into it. thanks

Around here on the public ground you are best off to not have any mojo or spinning wing decoy every blind or group has a mojo out or something. It's not that they don't work its that so many people use them.

ilduckhunter,
that makes sense but the fields i hunt are private.
also if i stuck it in my goose spread for when ducks fly by would it scare geese even if it was off? i would only run it when ducks were around. it would be off when geese are flying but would it spook them since its on a pole??

I have 2 baby mojos and like them, I would rather spend 120 on 2 smaller mojos than 1 thats bigger. The wings are cheaper on the baby but I havent had a problem, besides one fell out of the little holder... It makes a little noise but still worth the money I think

I don't think I would buy another MOjo. All 4 I have had have ended up with issues the first year.
I bought the Lucky Duck and have never looked back

I would like to agree with you here. I have never had a problem with our wings, but we take care of our stuff, we dont just toss it in the trailer like some guys. By the time the duck hears any odd noise from the baby mojo, it will be too late. if you do break the wing on the baby, they are cheap to replace.

I've got a baby mojo that I have been hunting over for two years now and the only problem I've had with it has been the pin in the support pole. I'll be investing in a wing thang and a super mojo for this winter. For the money, the baby mojo is the way to go though.

baby mojo will work for doves did it all last year. the problem with baby mojos is you gotta baby them. the shaft of the wing is only as think as lead and we had a wing completley fly off this year

we have 5 mojos and the big mojos battery runs out much faster compared to the 2 babys, but i have had to buy new wings for the babys because there paint chips so easy. Also in high winds the babys wings will stop because of the wind. we also have expedites (the old ones that came with metal wings) they seem to hold up pretty well. Only promblem with those is that we had to buy bunch of new batteries because they got so worn. Mojos help extremly well in field and water especially field, i dont find that sound is factor to the ducks or geese. just my .02

wow thanks everybody! i think after reading these that im gonna have to go with the baby. and jamie we can test robbie's theory out about using them for doves. i have no doubts that it will work. i dont think doves see that good. i think they just see movement and fly by.
Thanks!!
You really wanna slaughter the doves get yourself a Mojo Dove Tree and mount the mojo dove to the top of it.
Its fun to use, but almost feels like cheating since the thing sits 10 feet high and doves literally try to land in it lol. I have the tree with mojo dove plus 4 doves that clip on the limbs and I highly recommend it.

The metal wings and bigger shaft on the regular mojo make it much easier to deal with than the baby but, if you're very careful with it, the baby will work just as well. As far as doves go, we can't hunt them here, but we do shoot bunches of pigeons over our regular mojo and the doves are drawn to it also.
