When you travel to another state for a week and kill a limit of birds everyday, you'll be over the possesion limit.

So, my question is, if you cook/smoke the birds but don't eat them, just save them to take home, are you now legal since the birds have been cooked?

My guess would be no. I would just plan on eating a grip of ducks!

The answer to that is NO, you are not legal. This is a long on going debate for years. You can go out of state and they will sell you a 5 or 10 day license but you can't have as many birds. Eat them or give them away. Also giving them away can be touchy as well if that person doesn't have a hunting license

Don't get caught breasting them out, if you breast a bird out and travel over state lines you've just committed a federal offense.

I've seen the results of that, and you wont like it.

Thanks for the replies guys. What a bunch of BS! I can't believe you can't cook 'em to take home. That's a lot of duck to have to eat on a 7 day hunt. Looks like it duck for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Well, to answer my own question. It's no. I just checked with ND law enforcement. You can however, ship a legal possesion limit back home. It's in the regs on how to do it legally.

I believe that you can ship a possession limit home, but that doesnt mean you can do that and continue to hunt for more.... I think it is eat them or give them to someone, otherwise why the heck would they put a limit on them so you can clean them and ship them home and basically start over?????
