well ive been thinking about this for a while and me and my buddy from school are going to transfer next year or take the year off to work in another state so we can duck hunt... more than likely we would just get a little apartment and go to a community college or just rent a place for two months and try to find some work.
so im asking you guys, and others that have done their share of hunting around the US and canada, where in america or canada would you move for a year to strictly hunt waterfowl? mainly mallards but would also like to be in goose country..
the areas im looking into the most as of now are north dakota, canada, texas and montana, but am open to anything from september to the end of october.
im just starting the planning of this right now cause i figure it will take a while to get everything in order but wanted to come ask you well traveled waterfowlers where would you go to hunt for a year.
i appreciate it guys.
Eastern Shore dude.... Actually nevermind, there are no ducks or geese around here, not even sure what they are.

I would set up base camp in Regina, Saskatchewan. I will leave the rest up to your imagination.

if you want an area with a lot of geese, kent county, eastern shore, md. if you want an area with a lot better access in terms of fields not already leased up, try the western shore, better yet, western maryland in the RP zone. another great state for goose hunting is illonois or missouri. if i could move anywhere for ducks though id prolly take the coast of washington state, the great salt lake in utah, or the snake river in idaho

i would say kansas, mizz, or nebraska. Because then you have a lot of options to hunt.

I would say North Dakota or Canada. Both have great waterfowl hunting.

If you want the total experience, these 3 states have it all. Monster Bucks, Tons of Turkeys, and the Waterfowl are thick from opening day to end especially in S.Kansas and Missouri. There are junior colleges spread all over Kansas and private land access is pretty easy.

South Dakota. . . . hunt the east central part of the state until it freeze out around Thanksgiving then head out to Pierre for geese or South East for ducks.

If your looking for ducks i'd stick to down south. They get a good variety of stuff. I'd also stay away from the eastern shore, I saw someone said that the duck hunting isnt great and the goose is good. BS, the goose hunting sucks and diver hunting on the Chesapeake Bay is even worse, you dont see any... STAY AWAY FROM THE EASTERN SHORE!!

Missouri and i think it has zones so i would want to be near that line. So you can hunt in both as one may come in earlier and the other stay in later.

A little place called Stuttgart, Arkansas...haha! Anywhere in eastern Arkansas will set you up for ducks. Highest yearly mallard harvest in the U.S.
