Any of you MD guys know the regulations on hunting near the Bay Bridge? There have been several rafts of birds out in the Gunning Rig zone near the bridge, but I am not sure if you need to treat the bridge as shore line or not. I guess what I'm asking is can you get 150 yds away, or do you need to be 800? I saw guys in a boat set up out there the other day, but the man was there and appeared to be writing them up. If any of you guys know anything, I'd appreciate some info. Lots of bills, scoters, and buffy heads.
Thanks,
George

George,
There have been huge rafts on the Eastern side in front of Hemingways in the gunning rig zone. I believe you have to be 500 yards away from the bridge. The last time I came across the bridge, there was a larger raft about 3/4's of a mile south of the bridge towards Matepeake.

I know the guys you're talking about and they were legal. They were flagging at sea ducks and passer bys on the bridge thought they were signaling for help. They were in layout boats and it appeared that they were capsized.

Yep, I just looked it up on the DNR site. 500 yds is correct, and I know the birds you are talking about. I suppose now that we discussed it here, everybody know about those birds! Maybe somebody will set up out there and send 'em all my way toward Annapolis!
Good hunting,
George

George,
Those birds were no secret. They have been the talk on other forums for the past week.
Paul,
Come on up. There is a public ramp close to the action.
