Have you seen the new decoys? WOW!

My oldest son, who knows all things pertaining to hunting gear, (because he studies catalogs and the web like he should study his homework! :rolleyes: ) had the Greenhead Gear website up today. I had not seen the new decoys before, and I was amazed by the realism. 3 sizes of Mallards, and the drakes are as good as or better than the first generation, which were dead on, but the hens have probably the best paint job on a production decoy I have ever seen.

The pintails look like corks. The hen widgeon is by far the best I have ever seen, and the drake looks great as well.

I could go on about the rest, but it would sound like an advertisemnet, which it is not. I didn't know if everyone had checked them out or not.

To find them, go to the home page and look on the column on the left side of the page, I think it's hidden down at the bottom, says Greenhead Gear. Click on that emblem, and tell me what you think.

By the way, I'll be having a decoy sale this summer, if anyone is interested! :D

Allan, i would definitely agree with you that the new decoys are awesome, the mallards are awesome but the decoys i cant wait to use are the wigeons, i hunt primarily mallards but we have a few areas where the wigeon are thick, i look forward to gettin to use those dekes on em. i to am having a big sale on decoys this summer, gotta make room for some new birds.

I received my Greenhead Gear Over-Size Goose Shell decoy samples the other day ( one each; Canada, Snow, & Speck). The website pictures are great but having one in front of you is just awesome! I may be presumed to be a little biased in my opinion of them but I assure you as a die-hard goose hunting junkie, these birds take production decoy making to the next level! From the detailing, to the size, to the paint scheme, everything about the birds are first-rate. The heads attach and unattach easily and require no lining up of gooves or notches. They also stack well for transportation to and in the hunting fields. These decoys will dupe allot of birds this fall!! A great, great decoy...hurry up September Resident Goose season!

I am the manager of Zink Calls and have been for almost a year. Right now Fred is in China and is unavaliable to get to the Avery Message boards. He asked me to inform him of any questions that were aimed towards him and then post his reply. I talk to him about every day so questions will receive answers.

About the paint holding up, Fred has received many samples come thorugh that were pulled right off of the production line and we both could not beat the paint off. We put them through hell and the paint stayed. These decoys are going to be awesome.

I understand the spoonbills are not going to be coming out this year. Any ideas when they are? We have a lot of spoonbills in our area and I think they can add a lot of realism to the spread.

We will have Life-Size Series Shovellers by next July. They are currently in the process of being carved, and we plan to have the molds made as soon as we get the carvings because we want to have some for field testing this season.

I can assure you that they will be extremley lifelike because we have a ton of shovellers too, and we rely on them to decoy mallards in many cases.

In addition to the shovellers, we will also have gadwalls, black ducks and several other species.

Another question on new decoys. Are you also going to be selling just the keels in seperate packs. The ability to switch from long lines to short lines on decoys is very popular for those of us that hunt several different bodies of water. I hunt water as shallow as a couple of inches and as deep as 15 feet. It sure would be nice to use the same decoy for both scenarios. My current solution isn't really popular with my lab if you know what I mean.

Brett, we do offer them sold separately. I totally agree. I will also have some water keels for some honey holes I have to walk to. If you are interested, talk to your nearest dealer now to make sure he can still special order you some. I am not sure who if anyone in your area ordered keels as replacements or accessories.
