I don´t know if I count because I am from Iceland smile.gif smile.gif . Just kidding.
I like Mallards the best manly because they are the most common one and they taste good. We also have a huge population of Eiders but they are on the preservation list because of down harvesting  .

lallo,
You definitely count because you represent a whole country. I don't know of any other duck hunters from Iceland on the board.

I really like Wigeon. But mallards are awesome to watch work. When the sun hits their fronts and you can pick and choose big greenheads over big susies.. :D Thats a good hunt tongue.gif

I really like a variety. Not only in species but also in locations. Yeah it is fun to watch mallards cup up and commit but it is also fun to cut loose on large flock of divers screaming through your decoys. Divers are like my three year old. They only know stop and full speed!

Bryan,
My favorite kind would have to be the dumb ones. As far as species go, I would list mallards first followed by teal, pintails and blacks.

Mallards are hard to beat, but I watched 8 pintails work my ragspread last saturday. They came right over me at 30 yards 4 different times! They are really graceful birds in flight. Too bad the season was closed.

I prefer to shoot Bluebills,Redheads and Cans. But a puddle duck will do on a slow day.

The one that is in the decoys! Now there is a difference as to what I like to shoot and what I like to eat. Mallards and Teal taste the best! :D

Hey, Iallo, I have actually been to Rekyvik *?* before. Really fun place. Especially that hot springs!! Awesome!

Like Cooksey said the dumb ones. Mallards are my favorite. Next to geese.

I like shooting anything i can -- big sprigged pintail or a full plume widgeon, for thewall.
However, there's nothing that'll get your heart beating like a flight of 50 teal doing acrobatics over your decoys.

Still waiting for that flock of goldeneyes to come cruising through at 20 yards.

i love wood ducks. They are fast beautiful and can turn on a dime plus they don't taste too bad either.

I love mergansers, haha just kidding, i'd probably have to say teal, fast little buggers and tons of them, but divers ain't bad either.

Just for the heart racing excitement I love having divers buzz my spread. In terms of shooting ducks that I want to enjoy the taste of, and not make jerky out of it, then it has to be a Mallard.

I like poppin mallards, but I'm with Mark on this one. There's nothing like a bunch of divers buzzin your spread. Jason

Bluebills, Redheads and Buffies. I'd say Cans also but I have yet to get one, one day we had them in this year was my time to tend and 60 come into the layout at one time...all I could do was watch and go pick up a Bull for my buddy!

My favorite are Woodies, but I also like to shoot a few Blacks each year, and Late season Eiders are hard to beat.

Ther is nothing better than a big group of mallards or a kamikaze squad of teal.

Mallards in a cornfield does it for me. I can say though that I haven't come across a species of duck yet that I wouldn't hunt. I can't say however that I have a great desire to shoot a limit of shovelers. I've never been too fond of them.

Favorite duck to hunt, hmmm.....the one that is already dead in my decoys. They are dreadful hard to shoot when they are ignoring your calling and buzzing past you at 50 yards.

Prolly Mallard, but there is nothing better then the sound of a great big flock of Goldeneye's pouring into the decoys! ;)

MALLARDS/SPRIG AND GADWALL.

of all the ducks we shoot as far as table fair i think all of us are forgetting those delicious little rockets called blue wing teal. but when it comes to just plain shoot'n a dumb gadwall or woddy top the list . but i have to admitt that nothing cups up and committs as well as a bunch of mallards. but then as you can tell i am not a greenhead purist at all! tongue.gif tongue.gif

I'd have to go with pintails. They are so sleek looking in the air plus they aren't real plentiful here so that makes it even nicer if you get in to them!
