Motion Decoys

There's a lot of new things out there these days that help add motion to a decoy spread. I beleive when decoying ducks and geese motion is very important. I was wondering what other people use to put motion in their spreads. Any good tricks out there or any specail decoys that i might look into using for next year?

I've got a mallard machine that puts motion in your whole spread. It also keeps the hole open and ice free on those cold mornings. I've tried spinners, but for the money, I like the mallard machine best.

Don't discount a good old fashioned jerk cord. One or two decoys on the end of a jerk cord can make a big enough ripple to move a good sized spread. In a pinch we have used our own legs, paddles, and even rocks to get the decoys bouncing.

I am a fan of the old style WonderDuck. These are the kind with wings coming out the sides, and feet coming out the back. They attach to a spinning wheel inside the deke. I don't use the wings much, but love the ripple the feet put on still water. I have 6 of em. They don't make em like that anymore, and I don't care for the new style. They run for 2 or 3 days on one D-cell battery. I have had birds land right next to them on calm days.

next year i'm going to buy 3 or 4 quiver magnets amd throw them in my spread that outa do it. i don't have a boat so large heavy and cumbersome motion decoys are out
