The Waterfowl Wingmasters Teal Opener

My morning started with my alarm clock ringing at 12:25 am. I grabbed the dog, gun, and a few decoys and headed out. As I pulled into the parking lot I hoped to not see anyone else there. To my dissapointment someone was allready there. So We ended up getting the 2nd best spot. My friends showed up a few min. later and we set out the decoys and settled in for the long wait till sunrise. After a few poptarts later the sun finally came up. The shooting was pretty fast for the first 30- 45 min. Then things slowed down. After all was said and done we ended up with 13 teal with 4 guys, 3 short of a limit. My dog Libby did great, she found 4 birds that we would have lost out in some CRP. I was suprised, because this was her first hunt. Not a bad day, but It could have been better.

All my buddies were wimps and decided to stay at home so I went out by myself. On saterday I limited and on sunday didn't see to many birds. Went out last night and saw alot of birds but we got there a little late and they were already on there roost.

Awesome, even sweeter!

I hunted a pumped pond in the Mount Hope area. We didn't shoot any or see any. We didn't get the water in the pond in time for any birds to find and use it.

I didn't hear of anyone doing much of any good in the Mount Hope area. A few birds, here and there. A couple groups shot limits but they had roosting birds on their pond.

Good to see you know where to find them!
