I use them on my diver rig and on some of my puddler/goose rigs as well. Makes setting and taking in of decoys a snap, no pun intended.
Two ways to do it. 1. Straight motherline with one anchor and evenly placed decoys along the mother line using 1-2 foot drops. You end up witha straight line of decoy running parallel to the wind
or
2. Two anchors, one at each end of the motherline, with the motherline running perpendicular to the wind. Vary the length of your drops.
I use 3-5lb sash weights or the small grapel style 2lb anchors. I use #550 nylon cord, which is pretty tough and has been good at withstanding salt water for me. I only use this cord on the long line rigs because the weight of the snaps keeps the line from floating.
One thing that I will add is that I think that most people only think to use long lines when putting out big spreads. I hunt a county run blind that only allows a maximum of 12 decoys per blind and I usually set 2-3 mother lines with 3-4 decoys on each and 2-3 single line decoys. The small set of decoys move very well on the clips.

Mike,
I use GHG QuickSnap Gang Rig Clips for my diver rig. I rig my gang rigs with 12 decoys per line. I will leave 6' between each decoy. My drop lines will be at least 2' to reduce the chances of a retriever becoming entangled in the rig. The main cord is a tarred line that is about 3/8" in thickness. I will use GHG Quick-Fix Decoy Cord for my drop lines. Drop lines are the lines that run between the main cord and the Gang Rig Clip. I hunt divers in the Chesapeake Bay. The depth of water I hunt in will vary from 5' to 15'. The distance between my last decoy on each end and my weight is about 20'. The weights I will use are between 3-5 lbs.
Gang Rigs are a great way to put out a lot of decoys quickly. I will add some single decoys between my gang rigs to make my rig more life like. I hope this helps.

A rig of GHG L/S Bluebills achieveing the desired results. (The decoy survived...the duck didn't make it.)
