I was out to our ranch and took a drive out to see how the crops were doing and to see what I could get a few pics of. I drove up to a to a small resevior that was built back in the 50's by my father-in-law to hold water for cattle. This place is now in a CRP field so no cows water there. I was amazed at the number of ducks using this one small body of water. This pond probably covered an acre or less but I counted 68 chicks and 11 hens from three different species using it for nesting and rearing their broods.

Looking at those pictures seems odd to say it is "just a pothole", too bad more people don't understand how important potholes are.

I didn't say it was "just a pothole". I said "Just one pothole" as look at what just one small prarie pothole can produce. I meant it to mean imagine what thousands of these small prarie potholes could produce. I understand the value of these as I have worked hard to preserve them.

That looks like a great place to hunt/take pictures. Capturing those moments on film is great because it lets everyone see just how important those pot holes are.
