Has anyone ever hunted ditches, canals,or on leavies, during late season, when ducks are shy?
Have any pictures on how you set up? I am thinking about doing this when the birds wont work our pits or dry fields.
The only time i do anything like that is when it snows and ducks are getting out of the weather.
Any help would be great!!

Cory, Or you talking about setting your Finisher up on a levee for hunting in this type of situation?
You need to get a neo tub. It will give added warmth in the late season and keep you dry in up to 8 inches of standing water. This enables you to get off the levee and in the water (if conditions/water levels permits) to get right where the ducks want to be.
Use less decoys in the late season especially when being mobil.
Makes things easier for you and gives the ducks less to find fault in. Use just enough to get the job done.
Good luck!

We hunted a situation like this last year. The main lake was in front, but behind us were several flooded low spots. A Finisher and a neotub are PERFECT for this. We pounded birds back there!

I agree, a Finisher and a Neo tub will work great in that situation.

It works great! It's all about getting to where they want to be. We set up about 150 yards from the pit up against the bank because thats where the bird were hanging out. I do have the neo tubs for the blinds. Yeah I know guys most of you have seen these before!
