I shot him at 9am 35 yards out. He measured a 10" beard at 18-20 pounds and of all things I forgot to check the spur length. He came in with 3 Hens, 2 Jakes, and one other Tom that was strut'n for the same decoy. I had my doubts about using a decoy but that's what pulled him in close. Just amazing what the basic gear can do for you. I’m ready for the fall season now.

Just as a side note I was using 3.5" #4's in Hevi-Shot. Deadly, just deadly stuff. This Tom got his world rocked when I touched it off.
