I got my box of Canada floaters in the mail yesterday and man do they look awesome. I can't wait to get out and put em to work this weekend. Just wanted to tell all you guys to keep up the good work.

Another thing, On the box it says that there is 1 of each type of head position inside. When I opened it up, I found that there were 2 of each head position for a total of 8 heads and only 4 decoys. I'm not gonna complain about having some extra heads but I was just wondering if ya'll were starting to put extra heads in, or if someone boxing the decoys just put too many in by mistake. Thanks.

Sully,

Thanks for your purchase of the GHG Floaters, they are an awsome decoy. It sounds like there was a mix up in the packaging, we are not packing extra heads. Now you need to get out there and Whack 'Em over those new decoys.

Make sure you post up some pictures of the hunt.

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think you guys would be putting extra heads in, I had figured it was a mix up. I'll try and get some pics up sometime in the near future after I try em out.

Keep an eye on those extra heads, they are pretty popular right now. You will love the results you will get with these new floaters. I have seen a huge difference in the way that the geese are finishing to these decoys. They are as realistic as can be, and boy, can they ride the water. Please keep us informed of your success with these new Greenhead Gear floaters.

Good Hunting!

These floaters will increase your success on both fronts. Ducks and geese. The mallards just ate these up this year. Talk about the ultimate confidence decoy!!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/travismueller1/Frontonthe23rdofNovember036.jpg

I wish the paint scheme on these would be more like the shells or this years fullbodies. I just can't make myself like that blotchy pattern. It's the only only decoy in the whole GHG line that is let down by the looks of its paint job.

Paint scheme off? Man I have been comparing the two and I think it's pretty close! Like right on.

I can't get this thing zoomed up. Bret do you have a close-up of a live goose on the water?

Travis is going to zoom in on the photo above so you can see it better. I am not a goose expert, but to me real geese look like they are different color when they are sitting on water compared to sitting in a field. They look a little lighter on the water. Just my opinion.

Thanks,

I'm with Rick on this one. Geese on the water appear to have a lighter tone then geese in the field. It also depends on the sunshine. I think the paint scheme is pretty darn good!

Thanks for the purchase

I think the paint scheme of the GHG decoys are better then anything else out there. Reflections off of the water effect how the decoys look, much the same way it effects the same off of real geese.

I have to agree with the others, I think the "blotchy" paint scheme is right on. Makes them look like real geese to me. Plus these decoys are flat out big.

I think these decoys are very realistic. Take a look at these pictures and judge for yourself http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-12/905721/canadawater.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-12/905721/gooseonwater.jpg
Now look at the decoys! Seems pretty realistic to me http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-12/905721/Frontonthe23rdofNovember036.jpg

Thanks a ton Mac! That was awesome. Timber Hunter we are not trying to call you out here. Thats not our intention at all. We can all agree to disagree on things. I appreciate all of your comments and post away because we enjoy the conversation/debates.

Thanks for the pictures of the decoy/geese on the water. I haven't seen the GHG on the water only in hand. They do look much differant on the water than in hand. It was actually a picture of Travis Mueller's floaters stacked in a boat that got me thinking about the floater paint jobs again. I've backed out on buying some resters several times but these pictures might tip the scale.

Timber Hunter:
Your welcome! I thought this may have changed your mind a little. Another thing you have to keep in mind is that, like you said yourself, all of the other Avery decoys look great. I don't think that Avery would overlook something like this. I am sure they have spent many an hour studying geese to insure that their decoys are the most lifelike decoys on the market. If I can't convince you of this, take a look at the Zink 24-7 DVD, it will blow you away at all the pictures that were taken just for one of the decoys. Besides that - if you hunt geese, you'll love it. Have a good rest of the season!
