Guys,

How many of you out there are shooting Wad Wizard choke tubes? Also, what do you think of them? I have heard they are better than the Patternmaster and am just wondering what you guys think.

Thanks,

I shot the WW Supreme and SWAT12 out of my SBE II all of last season.....I can honestly say that my kill numbers went up and my cripple numbers went down. Prior to shooting the WW tubes I was shooting C-n-C tubes....great tubes, but they didn't do the job the WW did.

One of our hunting partners shoots the PM tube and has pretty good success....but.....not as much as we do!!!!!

WAD WIZARD....I wouldn't use anything else!!!!

Rick,

I use a WW Supreme in my SBE. I can tell you that it is nothing less than a great tool to have. I love using it. It really hits them big honkers hard and I am an advocate of the old large load slow steel shot. I use mostly 1 3/8oz #2 or BB in 3 inch and 1 9/16 oz of the same in 3 1/2 inch. If you try it you will like it.

Get ahold of WW on their web site and let them know that I sent you. They have a ton of great info on the site and it is not fabricated it is the real deal.

Rick,

Give Jeff Riverin a shout. He is on their (WW) Pro-Staff and could give you some feedback.

Rick,
I have been using a pair of WW tubes for two full seasons now. The Supreme is an unbelievable tube for geese, and I love the SWAT for ducks.

Something I do when diver hunting is have a second gun loaded up and ready for any cripples on the water,(this is legal here in MN, check your state regulations before doing this). The Supreme tube makes it look like the duck is being hit by a bowling ball instead of a 20 foot string of shot pellets...

With their money back guarantee, you really have nothing to lose. Give them a try, I would be willing to bet that you will be happy you did. I know that I will not hunt without one.

Just my $.02

I also have heard nothing but great things about Wad Wizard Tubes. I have shot pattern master for the last few years and guys have talked me into trying these tubes out. They all have said they are the best tubes they have shot for Waterfowl or turkeys.

I had the WW Supremes in both my SBE's. I patterned them against the Terror .655 and .675 and was shocked. I was shooting Kent FastSteel 3" 1 1/8oz 2's and 3 1/2" 1 3/8oz BB's, both at 1560 fps. I shot three of each type of load through each choke at 40 yards into a 30" circle. The WW Supreme ran patterns at 60-65% on the 3" load and 50-55% on the 3 1/2". The Terrors were much better. The Terror .675 was the best in my gun at this range, 85-90% for 3" and 85% for the 3 1/2" load. Granted everybody will have different results, but those are mine.

I have two as well. The supreme and the swat. Both have worked exceptionally well and they do not back out of the barrel either. I have never tried the Pattern Masters so I really can not give a fair comparison against them.

I just want to make sure I have my info right. The WW Supreme is a choke that shortens the shot string while maintaining a fairly tight pattern which gives it it's knock down power much like PM. The Terror chokes are constrictor type tubes and shoot an extremely tight pattern but do nothing to shorten the shot string. What is everyone's opinion, is it more important to have an extremely tight pattern or having more of the shot hit at one time for those snows and decoy shy canadas?

Yooper- I am all but convinced that a shorter shot string is the only way to go. Last year we had a crippled bluebill that I just plain could not get enough shot on him at one time to finish him. It was getting to the point of ridiculous. Brett took one shot and instead of it looking like rain on the water, it looked like a bowling ball hitting the water. Needless to say, that took care of the cripple. This was at a solid 35 yards.

I'm a big believer that speed kills with the steel shot loads, I've heard that the WW Supreme sometimes does not pattern some of these loads very good. Does anyone have any experience with the WW tubes and high velocity shells? What brand and shot size? I am fond of Winchester rounds because of my budget and had had good luck with them out of my Remington and now I've switched to an SBE. An advice would be appreciated.

For ducks and light geese all I shoot is Winchester Supremes. For big honkers I shoot Hevy Shot. I wishs there was a good way to do 3 demensional patterns. I think it would be an eye opener. I believe that on a moving target a larger pattern with a shorter shot string will put more pellets on target than a tighter pattern with a long shot string. Think of a kid running through the back yard and you try to hit him with water from a garden hose. Which will get him wetter? A long spray of water as the kid runs across or a 5 gallon bucket of water thrown all at once hitting the kid square. No doubt the "pattern" of the water hose will be tighter and the 5 gallon bucket much larger but, which got the kid wetter?

I have heard nothing but good things about these chokes. I have shot a PM and my number of cripples went down but my misses went up. I think that this style of choke tube take some getting use to, due to the shorter shot string.

The Hose at 25 feet, you wouldnt even hit the kid with a 5gal. bucket of water at that range. Bruce

Brett,

BUT, if you did "manage" to hit the kid with the water from the 5 gallon bucket he should get hit with a lot more energy and force than the spray of water.
