Need help locating the A or B on a FB decoy

Hey gang - just picked up 3 doz FB decoys to use here in our last couple weeks of goose season. Anyway when I unpacked them, one of the foot bases in a box of feeders was broken. I called customer service and was told that I just need to let them know if it was an A or a B and they'd be happy to replace it... well last night I looked all over the decoy and base for about 20 minutes and couldn't find this A or B... I feel like an idiot, but want to get this taken care of ASAP. Thanks for the help.

Master Duck,

The markings on the FootBase itself is located near the locking hub, and the markings on the decoy will be where the FootBase attaches. Hope this helps.

first of all, thanks for purchasing Avery/GHG products.

To find the A or B just take a look under the decoy, on both sides of the hole or legs connection, you will find it. If you look at the base, pay attention at the connection disk near the connecting mecanism.

Those were part of the first 700 dozen that Avery put out this year. Hence the no bands on the feeders. The early ones didn't have an A or B as far as I could see.

okay... I'm glad you chimmed in Tim, as I have spent some serious time searching for this A or B and couldn't find it. So, knowing I don't have an A or B, what should I tell customer service? I'm not really worried about the lack of bands.

I called customer service back and told Jenn that I didn't have an A or B, she said that she'd figure it out. I then emailed her my invoice and all is set... very good customer service experience. Thanks guys for your assistance as well.

Mike... as Tim stated, you have bases from the early shipment this year. The color of the part that locks into the body should be gray instead of tan (the tan ones are labeled A or B, you can't miss it). If I am not mistaken, all of the decoys in the first shipment were the A (active) style bases. I have several from the first shipment and all are the A style (these are for both Feeder and Active body styles). All the Lookers are on B style bases, but they didn't start adding the B style bases to the Feeders until after the first shipment this year.

Sorry Mike... forgot to add that the earlier bases had no letter embossed on them, which was why you were not finding anything, but those would be considered style A bases.
