I have an idea for Avery. Where I guide in Port Clinton, there's a marsh area on the bay that is probably 300 yards wide and about 1000 yards long. The marsh is like one big mud flat, with the deepest water probably being waist high and it gradually goes to nothing as you get farther away from the bay. The problem is, there are thousands of birds that like to rest on this "mud flat", and the nearby bay, all during the day. The birds just seem to want to go back and forth from the mud flat to bay. We get to hunt in the afternoon, and as rewarding as it can be to hunt this, it's a ton of work walking in that muck and there's nowhere to hide. There are random logs and such, but nothing that would really hide you. Last season, I was hunting it with two of my friends and the one asked me, "How could we hunt that?" I said I had no idea!
What I thought of was, the Neo-Tub was the way. It just depended on how deep the water was on that particular day. If it's over, 8" I think, then you're SOL, if you're trying to hunt the spot where the birds are.
I made up a drawing of a stand that would allow you to hunt that spot:

This would be a sweet new addition to the accessories for the blinds. Does anyone else think so? The only problem with it is that, made of wood, it weighs a ton; and assembled, it's a huge contraption. Maybe made of plastic or aluminum, and the ability to assemble and disassemble it would be the way to do it. I would like to thank "Brian Schmidt" for inspiring me with this idea.

To me, this would be a great product. To be able to hunt a marsh where you can't use a Neo-Tub or a boat blind would make for awesome shoots. I do not know if this is something that Avery will be able to manufacture but we will definitly bring it to the table. Thank you very much for such a detailed drawing. We will keep you informed of any advancements made to it.
Good Hunting!

We hardly sell any NeoTubs. I don't know if this would be that big of seller. To get the price right, we need to do some high volume on it. I think we would be marketing to a very few number of people. But like Chad said, we will bring it to the table and see what can be done.
Thanks,
Sully

Really? I figured ya'll would sell quite a bit of those. I know I need one bad. We've had a lot of rain here lately and all the rivers are getting out and I've found some places with lots of birds and I'd like to use my finisher but I'd be hunting in a few inches of water. I may get one here in the next week or two. It would be well worth it if I could get to hunt those spots.

The product is great, but it's a lot of neoprene so the cost is up there a little. Like you said it is perfect for that sheet water that is all over down here right now. We used neotubs yesterday in Arkansas and they worked great. Those ducks know those darn pits and the only way to kill them right now is with 12 decoys and getting as far away from those pits as possible.

Jeff,
That's a great idea but as Rick stated I don't think there is a really big marke for it. The NeoTubs work awesome for all this sheet water we have now.
Thanks,

I just thought you could use it in conjunction with the Neo Tub, but if you don't sell enough Neo Tubs to make something like this, then I understand. I was thinking last night, and it could be made of PVC too; just put it together like legos.

pcgoosehunter,
Thanks again for the post. We will bring this to the table for our 2006 product meetings. Like the guys said it would be a tuff sell. I do have to say great job on the drawing. This was very professional. Most ideas are just spoken and sometimes are hard to understand. You made this clear and to the point. Thanks for the post.

IMO, I think this would take away alot of the mobility aspect of what the groundblinds are used and designed for. very nice drawing though.

pcgoosehunter,
Great drawings, and we truly appreciate it. The basic concept, minus the awesome detail you have provided has been batted about before. I've actually used pallets in rice fields to do just what you are describing.

PC,
Thanks for the drawings! IT's great to have people out there like yourself willing to put your ideas on paper and pass them along. We really appreciate it.
Christian
you have a good idea there, but I believe a layout boat will solve your problem, and a small increase in water level would just make it that much better. The draft on my boat with me in it is 3 inches. Painted brown, a layout on that mud flat will be killer. IMO
