Correct ratio for feeders, lookers, active style

I am planning on getting a dozen and a half of the full bodies to mix with 2 dozen of the shells. Should I just get one pack of each style?

It depends on how you are going to be hunting. If you are field hunting, I would buy two Feeder packs and one Looker pack. I like to have a ratio of between 50% and 75% Feeders in my field sets. If you are going to use them along a waters edge, I would by one of each (Feeder, Active, and Looker) pack. The final decision is really up to you. It is tough to go wrong with your decision.

Rick is correct. A realistic spread should have more feeders than any other position. Geese are on the ground to eat. There will always be some lookers and walkers, but the majority of them will have their heads to the ground. If I was to buy two dozen decoys, I would buy three boxes of feeders and one box of actives. If you can go for one more, the lookers add confidence like no other. I agree with both Chad and Rick. In my goose spread, I try to keep an 80/20 split. (80% feeders and 20% actives.)

if you are buying decoys now, dont buy any actives if you were gonna just buy all feeders and I will meet you and trade you!!

it would be a huge favor to me,, I had my dad pick up 2 1/2 dozen while I was in Iraq and he picked up too many actives,, I would be willing to meet you anywhere in the area of Cloud,, mine are all still in the boxes just like new,,

I am looking into 1 1/2 dozens fulls with 2 doz shells as well. I am planning on getting 1 doz feeders and 1/2 doz actives. For lookers I am going to use my old sentry decoys because they have a pretty high head position compared to the actives. I would buy lookers but I have no need for six.
