The information attached below is quite possibly the most exciting news I have ever had the opportunity to relay on the Avery Message Board. As you will read in the link below, the Greenhead Gear Full Body Mallard has been selected for Field and Stream Magazine’s “Best of the Best Awards”.

As many of you are aware Field and Stream is the biggest outdoor magazine in the world, and to my knowledge no decoy has ever been selected. The “Best of the Best” can only be earned through creativity, ingenuity and hard work and kudos go out To Fred Zink, Dick Rhode, and all the good people at Avery for their efforts and dedication to their craft. Kudos also to our end-users for their support for this and all the Avery and Greenhead Gear products.

Rob, That's fantastic. Congrats to Fred and Dick for their work on them and to Avery/GHG also for it's continued achievements in the waterfowling industry.
They are some great looking decoys!

As my experiences with the O-S FB Mallard decoy can attest, I agree they are deserving of the "Best of the Best" award.

Congrats to all who were involved in the project from beginning to the end.

Congratulations to all, but to the carvers and painters of these full body decoys...you fellas deserve a steak supper.

I picked up 2 dozen FB mallards yesterday. Other than seeing them in pictures on this site and in a few magazines, yesterday was the first time I'd had them in hand. It's been a long time coming, but you boys have earned your keep with these decoys. Never before has any decoy captured the look and feel of a live mallard duck. From the half-closed eye on the resting hen to the body posture on the drakes, you fellas have come as close to the real thing as I have ever seen. This attention to detail is why I chose GHG dekes when the hot buy mallards came onto the market 4 years ago, and it is why I wanted to be a part of Avery and GHG. You boys have set the mark for all others to follow. Gone are the days of molding one decoy and changing the paint schemes to represent the different species. From the flat-top of the gadwall drake's head, to the difference between the blue-winged teal and the green-winged teal molds, and the relaxed posture of the low-head mallard drakes, there is nothing out there, in my opinion, that even comes close.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication. You have taken waterfowl hunting to the next level.

Guys,

Just think we have only been doing this for about three years. It is going to keep getting better and better.

Thanks,

Congrats to all that made this decoy what it is. In this country there is almost a black (guess you could say "green") market for these decoys. No body can seem to get them, they are in such demand. Nice job fellas on a job well done!

I am very greatful to what Avery has delivered to the waterfowl industry over the years. They have put together a team that has such a passion for the sport and that wants to service fellow outdoorsmen and a product line that is hands down the best quality available at affordable prices. I can't think of a manufacture that is more deserving of this award. Great job and Congratulations.
