I just finished adding the avery real grass mats to my boat blind. Things are all set for the Saturday MD oener. Wow they look great! I was going for the same look as the pics on the website and in cabelas catalog. I think things really shaped up nice. Lots of greenheads, widgeon, and a few buffleheads and black ducks around, so we'll see if the ducks are as pleased with the grass as I am. Great product, I highly reccomend it to anyone looking to add fast and easy camo to a new or existing blind. Just roll them out, and fasten them to the boat. I used shower curtain clips to allow the mats to slide on the frame like curtains. This will let me open the sides up for attending to my spread or grabbing birds. I'll try to get some pics up. Thanks guys for another great product!

George,

Just a quick tip that I am sure you already know. You can use KillerWeed or spray paint the RealGrass if you have to match your surroundings even better.

Thanks,

Rick is correct. We just grassed one of our blinds the other day with RealGrass we also added some KillerWeed All Terrain to help make it blend in even more.

Thanks for the tips. I thought about hitting the grass with an auto paint spray gun to try to just blend it a little darker. Kind of like a light dust of color to give it a darker look for hunting open water, as I am afraid of sticking out like a crow in a snowbank. At the same time, I don't want it too dark to blend with grasses and cattails. I'll see how things go in the morning. The killer weed is a good idea due to its versitility.

George,
Make sure you let us know how the hunt goes and how you blended in with the marsh. Post up some pictures of the success.

George make sure you keep your mats dry,at least when your done hunting, put your blind up so it can dry out. When the season is over with make sure you put the mats away, they'll last a few years.HOW DID YOU GUYS DO?

Well, the blind worked well. The few birds I worked came in nice. Collected a bufflehead, and then the Natural Resources Police showed up to check me. After 45 minutes of ranging houses, shoreline, and licensed hunting sites, checking license, gun, blind permits, boat equipment, etc, etc, the birds had pretty much passed for the morning. They checked everything from my distance to houses, to my safety whistle. It makes me mad to know of all of ther other law breaking boaters who fly underneath the radar, and the police spend all that time bothering a guy who is just trying to shoot some birds. I pay for a license to hunt, a license for a blind site, boat registration, and everything else to have a hunt ruined like that. Where I was, the birds are pretty early, then there is a lull. Tons of mallards and widgeon passed by while it was still too dark to shoot. I look forward to next saturday, hopefully I will actually get to work some more birds.

George, get use to it if you hunt up this way kinda pis*** off, the worst part is most of the DNR up here don't know a bufflehead from a widgeon.I HAD A COUPLE OF GUYS CHECK ME FOR OVER 11/2HRS ON MILLER ISLAND1 TIME, THE BEST PART IS HE USED HIS OWN SHELLS TO CHECK OUR GUNS AND LEFT LEAD BUCKSHOOT IN ONE OF OUR GUNS.we could talk about this all day. MARYLAND   has some messed up laws when it comes to warterfowl hunting,if i can water ski,go crabbing or fishing or boating public waters or swimming out in public waters, why the hell can't we hunt in public waters Most states you can hunt just about any where your boat can take youas long as you are in public waters.
shoot me a pm sometime. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE
