Dux,
Are you talking about family groups in the decoy set up? Family groups are small groups of decoys set up in the same area to resemble a group of birds that travel together. Some spreads may have multiple family groups in them. When setting up decoys, watch the birds in the field the day before. If the birds are in small groups, set the decoys like that. The groups may be 3 birds or 10 birds, but let the live birds tell you how many. I hope this is what you were looking for.

Dux,

As Curt said your scouting is the most important thing. If you watch the birds and set your decoys the way the birds that you see are sitting in the field you can't go wrong. Sometimes the birds are in family groups or satellite groups. When you see this, it is good to recreate that with your spread. I usually use 5-7 decoys in these groups obviously depending on what I see.

If I remember correctly, I think it means having lookers facing the other way towards the landing hole(like they are the shiznit). I've heard my brother say something like that turkey hunting, like they must of thought our Buckwing jake decoy was a sattelite tom. Anybody agree or disagree with me because I am not for sure?
