Last week, we received a shipment decoys here in Maryland. In that order, were the much anticipated "Lesser Canada Goose Fullbody Decoy". I want to show the veiwers the difference in the two decoys and how realistic a spread can become with the two different size decoy. Let us know what you think. Click the image to enlarge for more detail.

I like the paint scheme on the life size series better. Might be just the picture but there is two much light brown on the lessers anyone else think the same ???

Mixing the two sizes really adds realism to a spread. Yesterday we shot three limits of geese out of two flocks. The first flock of geese were 9-12 pounders. The second flock of geese were 2-4 pounders. Attached below is a picture of one of the small geese from the second flock next to one of the new GHG Lessers.

Jase,
The lessers look awesome. I noticed they have them in the new macks catelog. If I had some extra money I would purchase some. They would be a great addition to a spread.

Rusty,
Great color comparison between the decoy and an actual Lesser.
Thanks,

A better picture of the different size of geese we shot would be the hero shot. In the attached picture below, the second goose from the left dwarfs the other three.

The colours of the lessers look just fine next to the dead lesser..I was referring to the sides of the lesser decoys, near the flank area..

Jason,
I think i hunted that field????
I think its a good ideal its good to have all the different head positions and all that movement in the spread, you know how smart these little guys are getting around here. The smaller size deffinnily fits the size of our geese any way (4#-8#)size.
Rusty great pic's
Jason,
Talk to you soon...

Jase,
Nice photos...they show the value of the diversity offered by mixing the two styles of decoys.

Thanks for the pictures guys. I know out here in Oregon that the guys killed many different sized birds. I had a friend kill one goose the weighed 1 pound and a 9-10 lb. bird during the same hunt. Different sized decoys can only add realism to a spread.

With only a few days left in the 05-06 Goose Season in MD I can say that I have enjoyed great success mixing 4 1/2 dz. Lessers to my rig of Hunters, Pro-Grades, and FFDs. Occasionally we ran just the Lessers and thumped the birds just as well as gunning over the mixed rig.
