It has been very windy here in Canada, and I have alway's used a neck gaitor. This go around I started using one of our fleece turtleheads, and man are they awesome. Just like a neck Gaitor, but they have a slicky style hood that you can wear and still wear your favorite hat. Just wanting to know if anyone has tried these yet. I cannot believe how warm they keep the rest of your body!!!!!

The thing that I have noticed about the turtlehead is that it keep the tops of your ears warm. It doesn't fall down and I really like being able to wear a regular cap.

Travis,

I switched from a Neck Gaiter to the TurtleHead two years ago. Remember when we were down in Holly Grove during the freeze and the bitter winds? That is when I discovered how much warmth that seemingly insignificant layer of "Spandura" provided while allowing me to hear birds in the air at the same time. It is a great product.

Do any of you guys up there have any fleece callers gloves and if so what is the feedback?

Rob, I remember you wearing the TH at Holly Grove. I have been wearing the callers gloves this week in North Dakota and they are awesome! It has not been cold, yet, but videoing and calling they have blocked the wind and made it much more comfortable in the mornings. I may be wearing the TH in the morning, the wind has changed to the north and it is getting cooler tonight.

Trav,

Like Rob said...two years ago at Holly Grove it was..what..in the teens for a week and even dropped down to the single digits in the mornings. Ice everywhere...remember...we wore em out!! Ha... Anyway..you were making fun of Rob and I for wearing them then... :D
GREAT product and I never leave home without it!
AAAHHH the greatness of the Turtlehead!!!
Can't wait to get to Canada....four more days!

i bought one for those cold windy days and tried it with the nack gaitor but both of them at the same time was a little much heat wise so i just use the gaitor now on cold but not windy days

I got a Turtle Head just a week ago. To warm to use it yet. Still skeeters in MN! I will bring it to Saskatchewan next week though. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! This is going to be the ticket in colder weather for sure!

It wasn't cold enough for me to don a turtlehead like Travis did, however, I did slip on a pair of caller's gloves while we were hunting. They worked great! I do however, anticipate the turtlehead to be super for late season waterfowling, deer hunting and icefishing.

No problem whatsoever. You can also pull the Spandura hoodpiece back and use the product just like a Neck Gaiter. So it really offers the best all-around use in my book.

Mike, why would you need to wear a turtlehead in the truck while we set up all of the decoys and brushed blinds? Ha Ha just messin with ya and I'm glad you found your wallet. Get in touch with your biologist friend, as he has a gift for you.

I bought one a few years ago and love it. I too like being able to wear my ball cap. It keeps the heat in and your hat will stay on.

Travis,

The coffee in the NeoBottle was so hot and tastey that it was a pleasure to sit back and watch you guys go to work. You guys made up for it by having me rake up stubble to brush the blinds. The hunt was hoot and I had a great time, except for those five minutes that my wallet was missing. My blood pressure soared and my head went dizzy with things that I was going to have to cancel. Thankfully it turned up on the arm rest on the back door of my truck. Probably took five years off my life. I will get in contact with my biologist buddy right away. Thanks! Watch your email later tonight as I've got a couple of good shots of you and Sky. Once you see them, you may even start loving yourself!
