Duckinator,
The NeoTub is actually a neoprene cover for the Migrator and Finisher blinds. It slides over the blinds cover so you can hunt in water up to 8 inches deep! It is awesome for flooded rice fields or corn fields. My recommendation is every time you are done using it is to remove it from the blind and dry it out.

I tested one three years ago in an Arkansas rice field. The ducks had a tendancy to land away from our pit, so one day I took a Finisher blind with a NeoTub and went to where they were landing. After I had limited, we kept switching out people until we were done. It is a great deal for sheet water.
I also put one on when the conditions are muddy.

duckinator,
I attached a link to Avery's site that shows all three layout blinds; Power Hunter, Finisher, and Migrator along with the NeoTub. Thanks for your interest in Avery's products.

Is there anything special about the Neo Tub that would preclude it from being used with the Power Hunter ?

The power Hunter would not work because the neo tub is connected to the stubble straps on the finisher. With the finisher having a frame, it allows that neo tub to come up on the sides thus making it effective in standing water. On a Power Hunter, their would be nothing to keep the sides of the neotub up. Hope this helps.

wi-fowler, the neo tub is designed to fit the Migrator, the Finisher as well as the FA eliminator and pro-guide. It connects through the stubble straps for a contoured snug fit, like a glove the protects the blinds mentioned from water coming in, in up to 8 inches of water.
The powerhunter is very low profile, like a big boot bag, and therefore not designed for the blind.
I do agree, some type of neo-tub for the powerhunter would make it and awesome combination for total concealment in any hunting condition.
Good luck to you this season and thanks for choosing Avery /GHG!

I don't know that there would be a way to make one for the Power Hunter that would be able to keep you dry. You need to have some sort of frame to keep the opening in the NeoTub above the water line.

Does the blind float around with the neotub when a person is not in it?

No, it is simply a waterproof barrier that keeps you dry in up to 8 inches of water. It is good for hunting sheetwater fields, edges of ricefields to conceal yourself to hunt ducks and geese that are wise to pitblinds on levees, and really wet and muddy fields.

Rick, I hear ya. I was thinking, what about using the same method, like velcro strips on the powerhunter. You could lay the neo tub on the ground, setup the PH on top of the neo tub, and just wrap the neo tub around the blind and velcro as you get in? It would only be waterproof for a few inches/height of the blind, but would give the PH owners an option for really muddy/wet fields or a few inches of water.I am trying to think of a way to attach the velcro straps to the lower back of the blind to not mess with the opening/closing of the flip top lid. Is this something even worth considering????Just thinking out loud again..

A Grant,
The Finisher and Migrator will float around with out anybody in it if the water is deep enough. The buoyancy of the neoprene will float the blind in about four inches of water without any weight inside the blind.
JEDJR,
You bring up some good ideas. I will forward to Fred for research.

I hunted out of a Finisher Blind with a NeoTub all of last season. I had a ton of success with it because it allowed me to go to where the birds were and still hunt in the water. I also used it many times while I was hunting reservoirs. Instead of hunting off of the shore line, the NeoTub gave me the ability to move out into the water giving me a chance to work the birds closer. I would highly recommend one to anyone.
Good Hunting!

I was wondering will it float and drift away out of position when empty. I wouldn't use stakes to keep it in place. The stakes could poke the neoprene accidently. Weights on lines could work. You wouldn't want to keep it from floating just from drifting.

A Grant,
Take a couple of bricks with you, that would keep it from floating. It would take some deep water for this to float away which would be too deep to hunt in. If your blind bag was in the blind, it should not float away along with your gun. You could even use tent stakes and attach on the camo staps which are on the bottom of the blind.
