Journal Notes:
What a dismal deer season we have had so far. If you follow our quests on Youtube, you will recall I took a doe on video back in October. We have been filming every trip into the woods hoping to capture something great. Long story short, that aint been happenin!
Our gun season opened last week and we have been at em' pretty much daily with camera in tow. Keenan and I discussed the morning strategy last night and we decided that this morning we would split up in order to cover more area and hopefully see more action....camera or not!

Wouldn't you know it.... today was the day it all broke loose!

We knew we would be late getting to our stands since I would not get to leave the firehouse from a 24 hour shift until 6:30 this morning, so we decided to still hunt the thick cover surroundging about 300 acres of standing beans.
Less than 300 yard from the truck as I crested a large rise in the field, I could make out a doe standing in the beans at about 250 yards. When she broke for cover I could see horns behind her as this guy began to "bird dog" her. When they entered some Johnson Grass in the field, I made my move into a better position and in 10 minutes they emerged from the other side. A great rest on my bipod and a quick follow up shot put him down at around 100 yards. He is my largest buck to date.
After almost passing on today due to the warm weather and lack of rut activity, I am glad I trudged out for one more morning. It's like I always say "You can't kill em in the bed!"

Excellent condition, one season old! The gun has very little wear at all, the only wear in the finish is where metal contacts metal, when the gun is assembled it shows virtually no signs of wear. The recoil pad has a very small amount of wear around the edges, no slices, gouges or anything of that nature. The comb does also have small patches that the rubber has been touched, again it is very small and generally unnoticeable. I am selling the gun due to a lack of interest in Benelli firearms, I would like to purchase something else more my style. There are absolutely no mechanical, cosmetic or functional flaws of any kind. I don't duck hunt much anymore after moving to Ohio, there are not many birds around so I do not need a 1600.00 gun to kill a few ducks. I would like to get 1200.00 out of it, and will let the photos speak for themselves...

I have a black cherry pearl Real Thang for trade. The call is 9/10 and has only been hunted a handful of times. I'm looking for a meat hanger, a shorething, or possibly a death row goose call. I would really like to find something in orange pearl and would add a few bucks for the right call. I will try to get pics up tonight. Thanks for looking.
