    JOURNAL NOTES:

We planted sunflowers along with corn and milo back in the spring. A ditch runs along the west side of our property that we dug out to hold water no matter the time of year. On the day before opening day of dove season I did some scouting to see approximately how many doves were in the field, I lost count after about 10 minutes of being there. Opening day turned out to be pretty sweet, I got out to the field at around 5:40 a.m. and got my Avery® Fast-Break Ground Blind and GHG Ground Force dog blind set up. There were a few more people in the field that were doing their part keeping the doves from landing on the opposite end of the field. The field is approximately four acres in size, and is surrounded by cotton and corn. After being there for a few hours I had my limit of 15 doves and decided to spend a few more hours working my dog for the other people in the field. What a great way to open the fall hunting season here in Arkansas

Looking good, it must take a lot of shells to kill 15 of those things!
