Get a OD green Radar hat from a military surplus place like Sportsmanguide.com Dont need no fancy logo or camo pattern.

Avery turtlehead with the fleece beanie over the top early then switch out the beanie for a ball cap when the sun gets up.

Another vote for the Under Armour Cold Gear full hood. I really like not having all the extra bulk of most other head covers etc. With this I can then wear a regular cap (if not too cold and I need the bill for sun purposes), beanie (if it is moderately cold and sun is not an issue), or Columbia Yazoo (if it is extremely cold). If I get to warm, one of the layers can come off.

In my opinion UA Cold Gear is the "real deal". Not exactly cheap but worth it to me.
