It turns out my cousin just got some GHG fullbody feeders the same day I got my fullbodies. he doesn't have internet access so he wanted me to ask if he buys some motion stakes, and has to drill holes in his decoys, does that make the decoys weaker. Example: If we were out hunting and dropped one, would it have more of a chance of cracking and breaking the seal. He wants more motion in his spread but doesnt want to risk having them crack easier.

If the Motion Stakes are properly attatched there should be know problem, and I dont think it makes them weaker. I have had no problem with mine.

You don't have to worry about the decoys cracking from the addition of the motion stake. It will not make the decoy weaker.

Andrew,

The GHG Universal Motion Stakes are an effective and inexpensive way to add motion to your spread. I especially like to use motion stakes with my full bodies. The small 5/16" hole will not compromise the integrity of the full body. I have used the GHG Motion Stakes for the past two seasons with no problems.

Ditto what everyone has said. The hole will not cause the decoy to crack or break.

Andrew,

No, this will not make your decoys weaker or better their chance of cracking. This is a tool we highly recommend in the field. By adding these motion stakes to your spread you can greatly increase your success rate.

Thanks again for the post and good luck hunting.

Eric

Andrew,

I have used the motion stakes on not only GHG, but other decoys also and have not had any trouble with them. I am currently drilling holes in all my shells so I can set them all out and use the motion stakes anywhere in my spread I decide to. I think this is going to save me some time during setups.
