do they make a pole that extends, that you can put a flag at the end of, cause my blind, you kinda need something that will get high cause of the trees, and because of the tight spot, still tons of birds, but flagging hasn't been tried yet so i wanna give it a shot! any advice?

Actually flagging works better when you are on the ground. You are trying to simulate birds stretching their wings or hopping over other birds to get to food. I have never tried flagging out of a blind, but I think it could still work. I hope this helps.

I have used a goose flag on a 9' pole with great success. You can give the impression to incoming geese that other geese are landing in the spread and coming down. It also helps when getting attention away from the blinds and out in front of you in the landing zone. Good luck with your decision. You never know how something works until you try it.

Waterfowler,

They do make a pole that extends for flagging. I also have rigged up an extendable crappie pole that worked pretty well for extra height.

Waterfowler, flagging out of a big blind is just as effective as flagging out of a ground blind, at least to get the attention of passing birds. I have a 16' and 20' flag that I use in one of our big blinds.

waterfowler44,

Flagging to me is one of the most effective tools of goose hunting. I believe you need two styles of flags with you at all times. 1.) Lander Flag: this flag is most effective at short ranges such as: birds within 600 yrds up to 100yrds even closer once you have became skilled enough and can read birds. 2.) Pole Kite or similar to what Christian said a Lander Flag rigged up on some kind of extending pole. This style of flagging works great on birds that are a good distance out. This style of flagging you should be extremely careful once birds have broken that 400 yard range.
There are different style and lengths of Pole Kites out on the market. I prefer a 8-10’ Pole Kite. Some guys like them even longer but I have found this length will suit 90% of your hunting.

Eric

Thank for all the help guys! My lander came in the mail yesturday. Looks good to me. Before we had two black flags that I made out of a wooden dowel, material, and a wire clothes hanger. This will be a vast improvment!
